Free DNA Test Kit
We will always recommend an appointment for your DNA test. But sometimes it is not possible to attend an appointment. Also, some prefer to collect their own mouth swab samples. As a result we offer Free DNA testing kits, available to order through our online website. Also, we send DNA test kits ordered this way free of charge. The laboratory analysis payment for your chosen DNA test is payable when you return your samples. But we also offer a split payment option to help spread the cost of your DNA test.
Self-collection DNA test kits are a convenient and more affordable option. But you will receive more support and advice when making an appointment. This is invaluable and we will always recommend this option to you. Find your nearest Clinic or mobile collection service here.
Common Questions & Answers about DNA self-collection kits
Q. Can I get a DNA test for free?
A. DNA Clinics do not offer free DNA testing. You can only access this service through a private company. The NHS does not offer DNA testing for paternity or other relationships. Companies offering free DNA testing are using false advertising. DNA Clinics provide the DNA test kit free of charge, with payment for the test due on return of your samples.
Q. Where can I get a free DNA test?
A. As stated above, the NHS does not offer DNA testing for biological relationships. Here at DNA Clinics, we take pride in our clinical and ethical approach. As a result, we may consider offering free DNA testing in certain situations. This includes those who consent to having their ‘story’ published or reported in the media. We will only consider this for appropriate situations. Please call 0800 988 7107 for further information.
Q. Why are other DNA tests offered for £59?
A. Be aware of DNA tests advertised at this price. We have received calls from many anxious individuals who have had these DNA tests. These cheap DNA tests may have used an overseas non-UK accredited laboratory. Our most affordable DNA Test is a Peace of Mind test available from £99. While this is more expensive than the £59 DNA test, you can be confident that we will analyse your samples in the UK. Also, the laboratory is a UKAS ISO 17025 accredited facility.
Q. Is there a difference in Accuracy for self-collection DNA test kits?
A. No. We analyse your samples in the same way at UKAS accredited laboratories. There is no difference between self-collection or appointment-based Peace of Mind DNA tests.
Q. Can the DNA test kit be used for legal purposes?
A. Unfortunately, self-collections kits are available as Peace of Mind tests only. The closest DNA kit service we offer for legal purposes is if your GP collects your DNA samples.
